I had the pleasure of getting to know Steve over the years as a friend of the family--his wit, intelligence, and kindness were a part of many family dinners in NYC over the past decade or so. David, you and your family are in my thoughts. Please know that Steve is fondly remembered and sadly missed.

I've known Steve since we were at Indian Hill arts camp together in 1961; we reconnected at Haverford College and stayed in touch from then on. When I learned of his illness, I went to New York to spend some time with him--he was his usual witty and congenial self, just 3 weeks before the end. In addition to his wonderful music, I also admired his wide-ranging intelligence and gift for friendship. It was a full life cut short too soon, and I will miss him sorely.

What a loss! I was a roommate of Steven's in 1968 in Italy. Years later, when I taught at the Manhattan School of Music, I performed and taught some of his excellent works.
A sad day for music!!

I was acquainted with Steven because he was a very good friend of my ex-husband. My condolences to David Gerber.

My deepest condolences to the family of Steve Gerber. I was an acquaintence from high school and over this past year we had some email correspondence. I was amazed that one of my classmates became such a talented composer! This is truly a loss to our class and to the music world.
