I knew David while working for a client company in the 70's and 80's With a quiet demeanour and unfailingly courteous manner, his authoritative command of his subject impressed all of us who relied on him. On one occasion, not in any way related to work, he was personally very helpful to me. I was sorry to hear of David's passing. In Gaelic we say: Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
