I knew Fred as a neighbor and friend who was always welcoming with a smile. The world has lost a great man. His influence on his family, friends, and the medical world will all continue on with our paying it forward to honor him. Fred, rest in peace.

Solange, Del and all:
My deepest sympathy accompanies you during this sad time - but one which also serves to celebrate Fred's long, successful and rich life.
I will always cherish the fact that Fred and his brother Chris brought their wives to their former governess' 90th birthday in Vienna. It speaks to the deep and faithful connection between the Herter family and mine.
I miss him greatly at the same time that I cherish the fond memories he planted in my heart.
