Carmen was the one of most wonderful friends I have ever had . She had all the qualities of compassion, loyalty , sensitivity and intelligence and a superior person. I miss her terribly. I knew her from Long Island and knew her wonderful husband and sweet , kind mother and Aunt's. She was encouraging to me always and supportive of everything I did and gave with an open heart.

Carmen continues to inspire me to be the best social work educator I can be. Her picture hangs on the wall next to my desk where I can look at her and remember all I have to thank her for. She is a blessing in my life.

It has been a blessing in my life to have had the friendship of Carmen and Jim Hendricks since 1973 in Lawrence, Kansas. They were an inspiration of married commitment, love and support for one another and enjoyed each others company so much and were truly in love. I pray God's peace and blessing for these wonderful people, Carmen and Jim.

Carmen was my teacher many years ago at Hunter School of Social Work, and later as my SIFI instructor. She contributed to my pride in being a social worker. Thank you, Carmen.

I am so sorry to hear that Carmen is gone. She was my mentor and teacher in the doctoral program at Wurzweiler. She counseled and guided me as I pursued my teaching career. She paved the way for so many to succeed in life. Carmen was a true Social Work Pioneer! I will miss her so much. May God comfort you, Jimmy. May you find peace.
Sorrowfully,

I'm sorry to hear of Carmen's passing. She and I became aquainted through the National Association of Social Workers and the Council on Social Work Education. She was a great social worker and a great lady. My condolences to the family.
