MELVIN ZALEL Obituary
died peacefully at the age of 87 at his home in Fort Lauderdale. Mel had both lifelong devoted partnerships and countless loyal loving friends. He practiced law for over 60 years in NYC since graduating from Harvard, providing help to all in need. He served as a member of the Board of Directors for S.A.G.E. and was a lifelong advocate for minorities, including the gay community. Memorial services are planned in Fort Lauderdale and New York City later this year.

Mel was my good friend and my attorney helping me through a myriad assortment of legal woes, at all times with good sense and wry humor. I miss him and know that his place in the cosmos is assured.
He was a brilliant legal stratigist, a daper dresser, and had the best Art collection at his apartmant on West End Avenue. I was invited there many times to share food and drink with an array of his good friends.
