Papu (as i fondly refer to you as) may your beautiful, kind and intelligent soul rest in eternal peace. You epitomised love and compassion ; always mindful of the masses , often at great costs . God bless your soul.

I have just learnt of the passing of Papa George Coumantaros, and am deeply saddened by the demise. As Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Hellenic Republic between 2012 and 2016, I had cause to severally interact with several businesses and initiatives of this great soul, as well as members of his immediate family and staff of his businesses who had direct relationships with Nigeria. From these the deep love and commitment to Nigeria was visible.
On behalf of my wife Elizabeth and myself, I wish to convey our heartfelt condolences to the entire Coumanteros family, including my good friends Iannis and Flora Katsaonis, and the entire staff of Flour Mills of Nigeria plc for this great loss. Our hearts also feel for John Coumantaros who has lost a father and mentor.
We pray to The Almighty to grant you the fortitude to bear this loss.
