Park East Synagogue mourns the death of Jack V. Lunzer beloved father of our dedicated benefactors, Fiona (Honorary President Michael) Scharf, grandfather of our Trustee Andrew (Naomi) and William Scharf. Jack was a foremost Judaica collector, philanthropist, and supporter of Jewish Education and Israel. I worked for Jack Lunzer as a diamond sorter and always remember his charm and enthusiasm. He had a presence I had never come across before and I knew he was a very special man. Rest in peace Mr Lunzer

Scharf (Fiona).Jack Lunzer was a Renassiance man extraordinarrie.His committment to Am Yisrael, Eretz Yisrael and Torat Yisrael was legendary. Jack Lunzer's greatest legacy, which ensures that his soul will indeed rest in peace, is that all of his daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren follow his passion and practice of his Jewish faith and heritage. May the Lunzer family find comfort in their treasure of fond memories.
