JEFFREY GRANDY Obituary
of Vero Beach, FL, formerly of Bedford, NY died peacefully at home on April 12, 2017. He was born in Sioux City, Iowa on December 10, 1939 to the late William F. and Bonnie Grandy. Jeff graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy and magna cum laude from Yale University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and took great pride in being a 1960-61 Whiffenpoof. He received an MBA from New York University and spent his career at Citibank, retiring as a Senior Vice President. Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Mary Gallant Grandy, children, Jeffrey M. Grandy, Edward (Natalie) B. Grandy, A. Stuart (Sarah) Grandy, Paul (Jennifer) Gallant and Sarah (Rocky) Gallant Kurita, his nine adored grandchildren, Carter and Reed Gallant, Hailey and Henry Grandy, Marlon and Lyra Grandy, Zander, Kendall and Katherine Kurita, who knew him as "Poppy", and brothers, William (Jeanne) Grandy and Fred (Catherine) Grandy. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 12 at noon at St. Matthew's Church, Bedford, New York. In Jeff's memory, donations may be made to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, 636 Morris Turnpike, Suite 3A, Short Hills, NJ 07078 or the Indian Medical Center Foundation, 1000 36th St., Vero Beach, FL 32960.

I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER MR. GRANDY FOR BEING THE BEST PERSON TO WORK FOR IN VERO BEACH FLORIDA. HE WAS A CUT ABOVE THE REST. HE TAUGHT ME SO MANY THINGS EVEN TO LEARN TO LAUGH AT MYSELF. THANK YOU AND MAY YOU R.I.P MY ANGEL. AND MAY YOUR FAMILY FIND STRENGTH IN GOD'S LOVE.

After 14 years posted overseas with Citibank I returned to NY Head Office in 1985 looking for a job that would teach "transferable skills". Jeff took me on as a relatively expensive new recruit in Citicorp Real Estate even though I had no commercial real estate experience. It certainly worked out for me and I appreciate Jeff's taking a risk that it would benefit the bank as well. Jeff was fun to be around, had a great sense of humor and loyalty to Citibank and was a model for younger bankers. Thanks for the memories, Jeff.
