JOSEPH TANENBAUM Obituary

TANENBAUM--Joseph.

The officers, board and staff of the American Technion Society (ATS) are greatly saddened by the passing of Joseph Tanenbaum, a longtime leader, devoted supporter, and active advocate for the ATS, the Technion and Israel. He was a Life Trustee of the Board of Regents, and a member of the Board of Directors, where he served as the chairman of several committees. He was also a longtime member and past president of the New York Metropolitan Region Board. Together with his beloved wife, Bernice, Mr. Tanenbaum was a Technion Guardian who had reached the highest level of support. An honorary life member of the Technion Board of Governors, he was recognized with an Honorary Doctorate in 2007, and an Honorary Fellowship in 2000. Among the couple's many gifts to the Technion were the Joseph and Bernice Tanenbaum/ New York Metropolitan Region Dormitory, the Joseph and Bernice Tanenbaum Ph.D. Fellowship, and the Tanenbaum Chair in Preventative Medicine. We extend our condolences to Bernice, sons Seth, Mark, Daniel and Richard, and the entire Tanenbaum family. American Technion Society Zahava Bar-Nir, President; Scott Leemaster, Chairman of the Board; Jeffrey Richard, Executive Vice President
