E. HALSTED Obituary

HALSTED--E. Bayard, of Alford, MA, died July 10, 2017. Beside him until the end was his beloved wife, Alice Liebers Halsted. Born in New Jersey, Bayard grew up on a farm in Vermont. He served in the US Navy and attended Deerfield Academy, Princeton, and Harvard Law School before joining the law firm of White and Case in New York. Bayard's wide range of interests included music, conservation and art. All who knew him benefited from his insights into public affairs and relished his humorous wit highlighted by his being strikingly articulate.
