ESTHER RODITTI Obituary

RODITTI--Esther Claire,

passed away on August 22, 2017. She was born in Los Angeles in 1933. Beloved by her family, she leaves behind her son Charlie Schachter, her daughter Susan Weissman and four grandchildren. Esther was among the very first women to graduate Harvard Law School, in her case, with a scholarship for academic excellence. She went on to teach at Columbia University, where she helped write seminal New York City air pollution laws. Then she joined the Ford Foundation as a grant officer. In 1978 she entered the field of computer law building a private specialty practice, and founding the "Computer Law and Tax Report" newsletter. She was a passionate and inspiring woman with an extraordinary intellect. She will be deeply missed.

Esther was my special friend and business associate for more than 40 years. We originally connected through her participation in ADAPSO, a computer software and services trade association. She was brilliant at analyzing complex legal situations and structuring quality solutions. She was an erudite and interesting friend and always fun to be with. She was always dressed beautifully and a presence wherever she was. She soldiered on over the last number of years in spite of her difficulties and kept working as long as she could in her special field of expertise: computer law. I will join many others in missing Esther and her friendship. My best wishes to Charlie and Susan and her grandchildren.
