WALTER BOBROW Obituary
Died in Augusta, GA, on December 14, 2017. Born, Brooklyn, NY, November 8, 1925 to Jacob and Sadye. Predeceased by brothers Leon and Henry and survived by sister, Lucy Lapid, beloved wife of 67 years, Edythe (Bleetstein), children: Judith Sosis (Richard), Oscar Bobrow (Kim), Sarah Bobrow-William (Franklin); grandchildren: Leah, Morgan, Corinne, Myles, Isaac, and Noah. Served proudly in combat during WWII. Graduated from NYU and Harvard Law School. Past President of Temple Israel and Brotherhood, Meals on Wheels, Rotary Club, and past board member of the Boys and Girls Club. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 1:00pm at Temple Israel of New Rochelle. Donations may be made in Walter's memory to the Boys and Girls Club of New Rochelle or to New Rochelle Meals on Wheels.

Wally epitomized the phrase " a gentleman and a scholar". He became a friend when we met at New Rochelle Rotary over 40 years ago, and his good humor and sharp wit will be missed. Rest in peace my friend, for you have led an exemplary life both professionally and in your many philanthropic endeavors.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear the news! Had I known in time I would certainly have joined the family at the funeral and shared fond memories of Walter. He was a very special man, brilliant and generous. He will always occupy a shining place in our memories.

Our sincere condolences to the Bobrow family. Walter was a wonderful man and a great philanthropist in New Rochelle for many years. He was an intellectual giant but in my mind he will be remembered for his kindness. We started out as neighbors when I was very young and I had the honor to serve with Walter on the Board of the Boys and Girls Club of New Rochelle. May he rest in peace.
