Remembered with admiration from late forties when we lived opposite Griffin's Store, Ohaeawai. My father was a Post Office telegraphist and Winkie was a town idol and probably my first hero. I have 'name-dropped'Winkie over the years though never met her since those days.
.Thanks for great memories

A candle lit for an amazing Aunt who is hugely missed. The chats, the listening ear, the support and reassurance always patiently offered. My love to my cuzzies for their great loss
