Mary Webb Obituary

KINGSLAND Mary Lee (Broadbooks) Webb passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015 after a long journey with cancer. Her grace and acceptance and positive attitude during this difficult time was
an amazing example for us all.

Mary Lee was born to Leslie Lee Broadbooks and Rachel Eloise (Myrick) Broadbooks on November 12, 1932 in Larned (Pawnee County) Kansas. Her parents were living on a farm in Stafford County, south of Larned that was homesteaded by her father's parents in 1902. Her father was born on that farm.

Mary Lee's father was a J.C.Penny manager and later president of a bank in Erick, Oklahoma, so the family moved several times. She entered first grade in Pampa, Texas and attended West Ward School in Borger, Texas, until 1945. She graduated from Cordel High School in Cordel, Oklahoma in 1950. She graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Weatherford, Oklahoma in 1953.

Mary Lee married Charles Len Webb, January 1, 1953, in Erick, Oklahoma at her parents' home. They moved with the military first to Indianapolis and then to San Antonio. After Charles' army service ended, they moved to Midland, Texas and four children were born.

Mary Lee was a second grade teacher in Odessa until her children began their numerous extracurricular activities. At that time, she retired from teaching and became a full time wife, mother, chauffeur, room mother and sideline cheerleader extraordinaire. She was a fabulous cook and creator in the kitchen. Her food and her recipes were always meant to be shared.

Mary Lee was living in Marble Falls Texas from 1991 until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents and two of
her newborn children.

She is survived by her wonderful husband of 62 years, Charles, her children, Craig Webb of Blanco, Texas and Beth Webb Nauert of North Bend, Washington and three grandchildren, Richard, Mary and Rachel Nauert.

The family would like to thank Dr. Allison Gorrebeeck, Dr. Kirsten Warhoe, Darby the fabulous radiation tech, and Sandra and Leah of Seton Hospice for their excellent care.

A memorial celebration will be held at First United Methodist Church 1101 Bluebonnet Dr., Marble Falls, Texas on Saturday May 16th at 2 p.m. An online guest register may be signed at www.PutnamCares.com.

The family requests that any memorials be sent to First United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.

Funeral arrangements made by Putnam Funeral Home 145 Texas Avenue, Kingsland, Texas 78639 (325) 388-0008.

It was an honor to help care for Mary during her final days here - I still think of her often, her smile, her love of live, her caring heart. Mary was one of those patients that I will remember forever.

Charles
As the anniversary of Mary's passing approaches, I want you to know I think of Mary so often. All that she taught me about caring for people, having faith, and the importance of my job. But it is what I learned from both of you that has taught me to be a better person, to be better partner and to enjoy life.
May you always be comforted by your precious memories!

Charles and family, We are so sorry for your loss. We have great memories of our visits with Mary Lee at Broadbbooks reunions. She liked to reminisce with Randy about both having gone to school at Weatherford. We also enjoyed hearing about her grandchildren. Know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers.
