Alfred "Fred" Lewis(1928 - 2014)

ODESSA Alfred "Fred" Lewis, 85, passed away on April 1, 2014, at Medical Center Hospital.
He was born on December 5, 1928, in Purcell, Oklahoma.
Fred served in the United States Army in post-WWII Germany, where he met his wife, Ilse. He took great pride in belonging to the last horse platoon in the Army.
A long-time resident of Odessa, Fred was an electrical contractor and owned his own business, Fred Lewis Electric.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ilse Hertzstell (Pat) Lewis of Odessa; his son, Ralph Lewis and wife Debbi of Kerrville, Texas; his daughter, Carolyn Mayo and husband Bob of Greenwood; four grandchildren, Jennifer Fleming and Brent Lewis of Connecticut, Monte Mayo of San Angelo and Angie Lough of Greenwood; and seven great grandchildren, Kaylee, Melanie, Kaeden, Adam, Dawson, Cooper and Emily.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to veterans' organizations or the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
