ODESSA Darlene Brown passed from this world on June 18, 2014. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy for all those whose life has been blessed by having known her. Darlene was born October 16, 1934, in Asher, OK, to John and Ida Lemon Singleterry. She moved to Odessa, TX, in 1954, and later met her husband and soul mate, Bill Brown. They were married on June 24, 1955. They were devoted to each other for fifty nine years.
Darlene is survived by her husband, Bill Brown of Odessa; her son, Steve Brown of Odessa; daughter and son-in- law, Debra and Philip Williams of Evanston, WY; grandsons and wives, Ryan and Erica Brown of Midland, TX, and their children, Jordan, Katherine and Riley; Eric and Mejia Williams of Sundance, WY, and their daughter, Zayda; Shawn and Holly Williams of Boise, ID; granddaughters and husbands, Tamara and Joshua Kirchem of Yuma, AZ, and their children, Adrianna and Trenton; Tiffiney and Marcus Cantu of Cedar Park, TX, and their daughter, Addison; her brother and sister-in-law, James and Sandy Singleterry of Palestine, TX; sister, Nona Brogdon of Odessa; Connie Lowe of Odessa; sister-in-law, Hazel Brown of Odessa.
Darlene is survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Darlene was proceeded in death by her parents, John and Ida Singleterry; sister, Ida Banta; brothers, Moe Singleterry and Ray Singleterry; half sisters, Violet Tompkins, Gladis Tompkins and Dortha Herring.
Darlene worked as a cosmetologist for ten years at Flamingo Beauty Salon. Darlene's favorite hobbies were cooking, sewing, gardening and milk glass hunting.
Darlene's faith and trust in God showed forth a dedication to him throughout her entire life. She was a member at 21st and Eisenhower Church of Christ for 27 years. Darlene's heart knew no bounds. Her dedication to her family was second only to her love and dedication to God. Like the virtuous woman described in Proverbs 31, Darlene was a purposeful, Christian woman who lived her life well.
Visitation will be from 6-8pm Friday, June 20, 2014, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Funeral services will be 3pm Saturday, June 21, 2014, at 21st and Eisenhower Church of Christ. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
