ODESSA Mr. Jack M. Bell, age 85, of Odessa, Texas, passed away at West Texas VA Health and Care System on Monday, March 17, 2014. He was born on April 9, 1928, in Oakwood, Texas, to Jack Bell and Rosa Dodd Dushane. He was reared in the Buffalo area until moving to Corsicana as a child, and later lived at the Corsicana State Home for Children.
Jack was a loving, caring dad, grandfather, and friend. He attended Corsicana State School. He joined the U.S. Army in 1950-1952 during the Korean War. Jack was later honorably discharged.
His hobbies included fishing and hunting. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, TCU, collecting knives, and also looked forward to the Corsicana State Home Reunions.
Mr. Bell worked in the oil field Rough necking for AW Thompson, Brown and Root, Dotco and Expert.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Rosa, wife Juanita, brother James E. Bell, and sister Lucille Bell Green. He is survived by daughter Kathy and husband Ed of Odessa, Texas, son Keith of Texarkana, Texas, brother Roy Bell of Midland, Texas, grandsons Nick Watson, Kanyon Ramirez of Odessa, Texas, nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Roy Bell, John Phillip Bell, Don Lathrop and Jack's best friend Steve Porter for all their love and support through these last years.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 21, 2014, at Corley Funeral Home Chapel in Corsicana, Texas, with Dr. Mark Luera officiating. Burial followed at Resthaven Memorial Park.
