John C. "JC" Johnson

EASTLAND John C. "JC" Johnson passed away on December 17th, 2012, in San Antonio, Texas, at age 91, after a brief illness. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 20th at Long Branch Cemetery in Eastland County. Visitation is Wednesday from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at the Bakker Funeral Home.
Born on March 29, 1921, in Vivian, Louisiana; JC was a veteran of WWII, and served in the U.S. Army in Europe, receiving the Purple Heart. Prior to and after military service, JC worked for over forty years in the oil and gas industry in Texas and New Mexico. An avid "tinkerer", JC energetically filled his life with many hobbies and pursuits; including, woodworking and raising exotic animals and birds.
JC was preceded in death in 2010, by his beloved wife of 57 years, Audine Johnson, and is survived by three sons and three daughters, Kenneth Reed, Larry Joe Reed, Charles Reed, Faye Whittle, Joan Shrack and Debra Kerr. JC was blessed with eight grandchildren, Kenneth Reed Jr., Kaci Hayes, Kevin Reed, Kendall Reed, Jarrett Reed, Shawn Whittle, Danette Murphy, and John Walker; and eleven great-grandchildren, Kelsey Reed, Tristan Reed, Harley Reed, Brandi Hayes, Braden Hayes, Parker Reed, Caleb Whittle, Abby Whittle, Miles Whittle, Jack Murphy and Bethany Walker.
JC spent his entire life as a warm and caring man, who never met a stranger, and will be missed by family and friends alike.
