Mauricio "Wilo" Cordova Sr.(1924 - 2014)

ALPINE Mauricio "Wilo" Cordova, Sr., lifetime resident of Alpine, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014, at Midland Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be held at the Geeslin Chapel Wednesday, March 5, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 7, at Our Lady of Peace with Fr. Mike Alcuino officiating. Military graveside service will follow at Holy Angels Cemetery. Alpine Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Cordova was born in Terlingua, Texas, on November 2, 1924, to Hilario and Trinidad Cordova. He was the last of his ten siblings. He had worked as a clerk for the Thriftway store for several years. He was an avid reader and he especially enjoyed to read the Odessa American newspaper. He was a WWII, US Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Cordova; a daughter, Diana Ramos; sons, Larry and Lisa Cordova, Mauricio Jr. and Laura Cordova of Alpine and Oscar and Elsa Cordova of Corinth, Texas. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
