MIDLAND Pete Garvin, 88, passed away December 28, 2013, at Hospice House of Odessa.
He was born in Sudan, TX, on August 4, 1925.
He served in the U.S. Navy
. He worked in the oilfield for many years and retired from Kenai Drilling in 1988. He was a loving, caring, giving man. He idolized his grandchildren and was always busy doing anything to help anyone. His goal was always to make sure his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were happy. He was a practical joker, always keeping the kids happy and laughing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nanny Wright and William Calvin Garvin; brothers, H.C., Alvia, Leroy, Clyde, Bobby Don and Orbie Dean; sons, Butch Raney and Pete Bradford; one niece, Gaylene.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of fifty-two years, Betty; daughter, Joellen Ball of Highlands, TX, Trina Roper of Odessa, TX; grandchildren, Dayna Ball, Marion Ball and Rhonda, Brad Ball and Courtney of Highlands, TX, Trey Johnston, Fara Greeley, J.D., Justin Roper of Odessa; special girls, Shyann Wagner and Hallea Roper; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at American Heritage Cemetery and Funeral Home on December 31, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. Burial immediately following.
