Walton Watson Obituary
He was born in San Angelo, Texas, on December 11, 1939, to Moody and Loren (Barnes) Watson. He served in the U.S. Navy for several years. Dwayne married Betty Rickard on March 7, 1975, in Lovington, N.M. They had recently celebrated 35 years together. Mr. Watson was retired from working as a shop foreman for Rig Works. He was a loving husband, dad and devoted granddad.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Betty Watson of Gardendale; three daughters, Geri Williams and husband Steve of Lubbock, Jodi Cook and husband Todd of Odessa and Sherry Watson of Tucson, Ariz.; two sons, Terry Watson of San Diego, Calif., and Dave Watson of Tucson, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
His parents and one son, Danny Watson, precede him in death.
Special thanks go out the loving staff of Home Hospice and Buena Vida Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be at Acres West Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 2, 2010, officiated by Pastor Johnny Thomason. Interment with military honors will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will include Todd Cook, Stephen Knight, Michael Hernandez, Steve Williams, Mike Alcorn and J.W. Brake.
Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and online condolences may be sent at acreswestfuneral.com.

Betty and Jodi,My prayers and heart go out to the family.Sorry I was not still there when Dwayne made his last stop. But he finally met that mighty man in heaven that he told me he was going to meet and I pray that brings you a little peace in your hearts.May God be with you Betty and keep you very close to him.
