Wendell Hicks Obituary
Wendell was a wonderful father to Michael Lee Hicks, Neil Allen Riggen and Jeffrey Ben Riggen. He was also a wonderful grumpy to all five of his grandsons. Wendell was a wonderful companion to his wife, Cassie Hicks.
He was preceded in death by his father: Wendell Lee Hicks, Sr.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife: Cassie Hicks of Odessa; mother: Millie Hicks of Yulee, FL; son: Michael Lee Hicks and wife, Heather, and grandson: Blake Hicks, all of Kansas City, MO; son: Neil Riggen and wife, Tessa, and grandsons: Frankie and Jaxson Riggen, all of Gardendale; son: Jeffrey Riggen and wife, April, and grandsons: Jayden and Kyle Riggen, all of Goldsmith; brother: James Hicks and wife, Rhonda, and nephew, Jeremy Hicks, all of Odessa; sister: Julie Tucker and husband, Richard, and nephew, Jesse Tucker, all of Yulee, FL; sister: Linda Ann Moreno-Torres and husband, Frank, and children, Frankie, Johnny, Alexis, and Peter, all of Florida; mother-in-law: Vera Hunter of Odessa; and father-in-law: Doyle Hamilton and wife, Carol, of Llano, TX.
Memorial services will be 7:00 pm Tuesday, October 12, 2010 with military honors at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Brother Roy Jones. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. Online condolences may be sent at acreswestfuneral.com.

Hi Dad! Well once again we both got cheated on seeing each other, but this time we have to rely on feeling, i may not be able to see you but i know that you are in my heart and thats where you will remain for the rest of my life! I love you so much and miss you more than words could ever tell. I will never forget all the life lessons and wisdom you have taught me and will carry it on to my son. I think of you daily and cherish all of our time together. I look forward to that day that we can fulfill our destiny of getting to fish together again! I love you DAD and always will!

Sonny, I waited so long for us to meet and now that we finally did you are gone! I feel blessed that we got to spend together and grateful that we were able to have that wonderful phone conversation on 9-25. I wondered, after we spoke, and even now, could that phone call I received from you have been meant to be a kind of goodbye? Whatever the purpose it gave us the chance to share stories, opinions and feelings. I know you were happy to have me in your life and I am happy to have you in mine. You gave me special memories that I will cherish forver. One day we will meet again and yes, we will even have that family reunion we were planning. You will live on forever in my heart dear brother, rest in peace...love you much!
