Timothy Houghton Obituary

ODESSA In the early morning of August 6, 2012, Timothy Paul Houghton, age 22 was called home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Timothy was born in Midland, Texas on July 17, 1990 to loving parents David and Billie Houghton. Timothy was employed by Amphenal Steward Enterprises where he worked as an injection molder. He was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Odessa, Texas.

Timothy had a bright vivacious spirit. He possessed a contagious smile and an infectious laughter. He was quite the prankster with a quick wit. Timothy did not have any brothers or sisters, but his cousins acted as his siblings. He enjoyed spending time with them playing video games, watching movies, playing football and fishing. They were his lifelong friends. Timothy was an avid UT and Cowboy fan and Batman was the ultimate superhero is his eyes.

Timothy's departure from this life left all those who loved him broken hearted. Through organ donation Tim was able to give the gift of life to many others, insuring that their families would not suffer such heartbreak. Timmy leaves a living legacy through the lives of others.

Those left to cherish his memory are his best friend and father: David Houghton of Odessa; paternal grandmother: Rita Houghton of Odessa, aunts and uncles: Melissa and Dwayne Johnson, Kerris and Warren Flowers, Martha McDougle, Ernest and Myna Houghton, Ricky and Diane Tindol, Ruby and Alan Carr, Shorty and Linda Stokes, and Glen Lawson; and numerous beloved cousins.

He was preceded on his Heavenly journey by his mother: Billie Faye Hough-ton; Great grandparents: Ernest Paul Houghton, Martha Julia Houghton, Grandparents Paul George Houghton, W.C. Stokes, and Mona Faye Stokes; and aunt: Sandy Forenzi.

The family will receive friends at Acres West Funeral Chapel on Friday evening, August 10, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Vine Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Robert Lamb. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West

Funeral Chapel and condolences to the family may be sent online at acreswestfuneral.com.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the physicians, nurses, and staff at Seton Medical Center for the loving, compassionate care given to Timothy. Thank you for becoming his second family.

Thanks also, to the Pastors and church families of Grace Fellowship Church and Vine Baptist Church.

Greater love has no one than this, than to lay one's life for his friends. John 15:13 NKJV

I was honored and privileged to care for Timothy while he was on the 3rd floor at SMCA. He was such a pleasure to get to know and I enjoyed our conversations. My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Houghton and the family.

David,
Many prayers are with you. Praying you can feel God's strength and comfort every minute of the day and night.
We know Billie was so happy to welcome Timmy to heaven. We pray that your "waiting" time on earth is full of wonderful memories and God's hand holding you and leading you every step.
Hugs from Esther & Christi (aka Combat Boots per your name for her years ago)

David,
Know that I love you and have said many prayers for you. I remember the day Timmy was born and how happy you and Billie were. I pray God holds you close gives you strength and a peace that outweighs understanding. Remember it is not good-bye but see you on the other side. Friends forever,
Donna B & Kenneth
