Albert Monroe Faught Obituary
ODESSA Albert Monroe Faught, age 84, of Odessa, passed from this life on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Sienna Care Center in Odessa after a long illness. He was born in El Dorado, Texas on August 15, 1928 to John and Willamena "Minnie" (Baethge) Faught, but grew up in Lampasas and graduated from Lampasas High School. Albert was a US Army Veteran and worked at Midland International Airport as a janitor.
Albert was nicknamed "Jackrabbit" because he was always going. He worked, worked and worked some more. He would work – come home – eat – sleep – and get up to work again. He was fascinated by history and math and loved trigonometry. He was a witty, likeable person who enjoyed country dancing and reading. An outdoorsman, Albert also enjoyed gardening and deer hunting.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of over 29 years, Carolyn (Mikeska) Faught of Odessa; sons: Ed Faught and wife Janet of Denton, TX and Vernon Carter and wife Fran, and Jerry Carter and wife Christina, all of Odessa; daughter: Tina Columbus and husband Enrico of San Angelo, Joana Caye Anderson and husband Bob of Baku, Azerbaijan (Russia), and Debbie Hastings of Odessa; two brothers: Norman Faught of Hobbs, NM and Johnny Faught and wife Shirley of Midland; sister: Aletha Mae Tankersley of San Angelo; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Minnie Faught; brother: Nolan Faught; and four sisters: Oveeda Gardner, Edith James, Bernice Matchen, and Josephine Bear.
The family will receive friends at Acres West Funeral Chapel on Sunday evening, January 27, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Monday, January 28, 2013, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Braswell. Interment will follow in Midland County at West Texas Memorial Park. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and condolences may be sent to the family online at acreswestfuneral.com.
