Bonnie Jean Broughton Obituary
ODESSA Bonnie Jean Broughton was born November 23, 1932 to John Brown Carter and Waweese Lindsey Carter. She married Truman Gail Broughton, Jr. on November 20, 1947 in Morton, Texas. They moved to Odessa, Texas in 1956. Jean enjoyed life and family to its fullest. She loved bowling, dominoes, and crocheting. Her afghans were a thing of beauty, and she tried to make every family member one especially for them. Jean started bowling in the early 70s and was still bowling at age 77. She had many health trials to overcome, and with God's help and her family, she did.
Bonnie Jean was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Karen Broughton Harry. Survivors include husband, Truman Broughton; 2 sons and 1 daughter, Lynn Broughton and wife Lenora, Diane Penn and husband Ben, Gary Broughton and wife Amber; 7 grandchildren, Michael and wife Sharon, Sheila, Robbie and wife Melinda, Casey, Brandy and husband Greg, Rachel and Rebecca, and 6 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by 5 brothers and 3 sisters, J.B. Carter and wife Afaf, Conrad Carter and wife Kay, Robert "Bud" Carter and wife Ginger, Charlie Carter, Les Carter and wife Sharon, Barbara McCamish, Betty Jo Spicer and Carol Pruitt; numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly.
Formal visitation will take place from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland.
