Wyatt Duke Lipscomb Jr. Obituary
SWEETWATER Wyatt Duke Lipscomb, Jr., 89, of North Richland Hills, Texas, formerly of Odessa, Texas, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Green Valley Healthcare & Rehab Center. Graveside services will be 2 P.M. Saturday, March 8, 2014, at the Roscoe Cemetery near Roscoe, Texas, with Rev. Brian Brownlow officiating under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater, TX.
Wyatt was born September 20, 1924, in Robert Lee, Texas. He lived in Odessa, TX, from 1960 to 2005 and in North Richland Hills, TX, until his death. He married Wanda Jean Heine August 5, 1949, in Roscoe, TX. He was a long time member of Highland Park United Methodist Church in Odessa. He was a graduate of Texas A&M University in 1949, and was employed by the Federal Government in the soil conservation industry, retiring after 25 years of service. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during WWII.
Wyatt is survived by a daughter, Gayle Romeros and husband Michael of North Richland Hills, TX; a son, Gary Lipscomb and Bob Heath of Arlington, TX; grandson, Sean Lipscomb and wife Lindsey of Mansfield, TX; great grandchildren, Grace and Pieper Lipscomb of Mansfield, TX. He is also survived by two step grandchildren, Laurel and Connor Romeros of Galveston, TX, and friend, Nina Crowder of Odessa.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Jean Lipscomb on May 9, 1986; his parents, Duke and Margarite "Pete" Lipscomb; and his in-laws, Herman and Pauline Heine.
