ODESSA - Doyle Wayne Garrett II, 59, of Odessa, TX went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family November 9, 2018 in Odessa.

Doyle was born August 22, 1959 in Odessa to Doyle Garrett and Claudette Taylor. He began his high school career at Odessa High School. He then moved and graduated in 1977 from Coronado High School in El Paso, TX. Doyle married the love of his life, Valarie Nation, May 10, 1993. Together they raised four children: Amber, Tobee, Braden, and Blanton. His love for his family showed through his hard work to support them with his dedicated career of 20+ years at Frac Tank Rental. During this time, he built many long lasting friendships and a second family through the company.

He enjoyed playing Phase 10, Wa-Hoo, and LCR with his family as well as going fishing out at the Possum Kingdom lake house. He absolutely adored his seven grandchildren who kept him young, energetic, and always on his toes. "What happens at Poppy's house, stays at Poppy's house." Doyle's unforgettable passion, laughter, and unbounding love impacted everyone he came across.

Doyle was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Laville Taylor and Betty Taylor, his paternal grandparents: Blanton and Grace Garrett; his uncle: Tommy Garrett; and aunts: Billie J. Taylor Fitzgerald and Ouida Garrett Arnold.

He is survived by his wife: Valarie; daughters: Amber, husband David Brown, and Tobee, husband Casey Sullivan; sons: Braden, wife Callye Ewell and Blanton Garrett, significant other Taylor Ranney; seven grandchildren: Taylor, Jaytan, Cayden, Jayclin, Keelii, Maddox, and Madison. His parents: Claudette and Pete Stull, and Doyle Garrett Sr.; mother-in-law: Ruth Luxton; brothers: Leonard "Buddy" wife Sandra Garrett and Stephen "Rusty" Garrett; sisters: Kristi Phillips and Debbie Garrett; sister-in-law: Vonda Nation; two aunts: Judy Kendall and Pat Ball; five nieces and seven nephews; along with numerous great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Doyle's decision to be an organ donor has turned this sudden tragedy into someone else's answered prayers. His heart will keep beating and his eyes will see the sunset again.

The family will receive visitors at Acres West Funeral Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. Funeral services will be at Northside Baptist Church, 100 W. 50th Street, on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 11:00 am, officiated by Brother Clydel Chapman. Pallbearers will be Blanton Garrett, Braden Ewell, Jaytan Brown, Casey Sullivan, Taylor Sullivan, David Brown, Rusty Garrett, and Buddy Garrett. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and condolences to the family may be sent online at acreswestfuneral.com.
