Faye June McQueary Parker McKee Obituary
GORDON Faye June McQueary Parker McKee, 84, formerly of Gordon, TX, went to be with her Heavenly Father Saturday, November 2, 2013, in the comfort of her home in Gordon, TX. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, November 6, at the New Gordon Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 5, from 5-7 PM at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Palo Pinto Hospice in Mineral Wells.
Faye was born February 8, 1929, in Mineral Wells, TX, to G.D. McQueary and Ruby Smith. She graduated from Gordon High School in 1947 and then she married her late husband, T.N. "Buster" Parker of 27 years, with whom she had 7 children. Faye later got remarried to Jim McKee in the Westover Baptist Church in Odessa, TX, December 19, 1975. Faye was a homemaker who enjoyed baking and sewing and she also had a green thumb. She was an avid music listener and was a self-taught piano player. Faye's family meant the world to her. She has never met a stranger, and anyone who walked through her door was always welcome. She was a member of the Sherwood Baptist Church of Odessa, First Baptist Church in Gordon, a member of the Eagles Lodge and Square Dancing Allemanders of Odessa, and part of the CB Permian Basin Club.
Faye is preceded in death by her late husband: T.N. "Buster" Parker; her sister: Mary Rose; her stepson: Lane Erle McKee; her grandson: Brad Green; her brothers: John W. McQueary and wife Pauline, James H. McQueary "Stug" and Jack McQueary.
Survivors include her husband: Loveless Erle "Jim" McKee; sons: Johnny Parker and wife Carla, Joseph Parker; stepson: Rodney McKee; daughters: Sue Jackson and husband Larry, Deanna Hamilton and husband Mike, Pamela Beyer and husband Blake, Mary Hamilton and husband Dennis, Tommye Collins and husband Michael; stepdaughter: Denise Walker; and brother: Donald R. "Tony" McQueary and wife Dorothy; 2 daughters-in-law: Lora McQueary, JoAnn McQueary; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to all of the ladies who took care of mother and the family. Thank you, Teresa, Sherry, Denise, and of course Dr. Edwin Evans.
