ODESSA Jerry Millard Tedford, 75, of Odessa, was born in Wichita Falls July 15, 1937, to Arthur Millard Tedford and Ida Mae Gilliland Tedford.
A decorated Vietnam Sailor, Mr. Tedford served in the United States Navy from the ages of 17 to 32. Following his time in the military he married his best friend, Anita Tessaro, on March 22, 1981. Their combined family included three young girls.
Mr. Tedford enjoyed a number of hobbies and was a known rockhound. He and wife Anita enjoyed lapidary for many years and were members of the Midland Gem and Mineral Society.
After retiring from his position as Superintendent of Building Services for the City of Odessa, Mr. Tedford volunteered his time with the Special Olympics and served as a transport driver for local armed services' new recruits.
Mr. Tedford is survived by his wife, Anita Tedford of Odessa; daughters, Jerri Tedford of May, TX, Karen Wolfe of Los Angeles, CA, and Stephanie Bankhead and husband Ron Bankhead of Amarillo, TX; brother, Robert Tedford and wife Linda Tedford of Wichita Falls, TX; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brother, Joe Tedford.
