NEW BOSTON, TX Jesse James Johnson, age 68, of New Boston, Texas, passed away peacefully Monday, March 25, 2013, at his residence. Mr. Johnson was born October 6, 1944, in Holly Creek, Oklahoma. He was a Machinist at Red River Army Depot, a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church, co-owner with Damon Johnson of East Texas Machine, New Boston, co-owner with Kenneth Broyles of Chickaree Industries and J & K Machine in Odessa, Texas, a United States Navy Seabee Veteran and is preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Perkins, and a daughter, Misty Dawn Johnson.|
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Paula Johnson of New Boston, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Damon and Stacie Johnson of New Boston, Texas; two daughters and one son-in-law, Jessica Devasier of New Boston, Texas, and Kami and Chris Brown of McKinney, Texas; five granddaughters, Madeline, Isabelle and Olivia Johnson of New Boston, Texas, Meredith Devasier of New Boston, Texas, and Kennedy Brown of McKinney Texas; a nephew, James Glendell (Glen) Perkins of Sayre, Oklahoma; three sisters, Barbara Tucker of New Boston, Texas, Marguerete Hunter of Odessa, Texas, Wanda Posey of Clarksville, Texas; one brother, Kenneth Johnson of Cisco, Texas; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Della Broyles of Anna, Texas; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joan Carol and Richard Stallard of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 29, 2013, in the Bates-Rolf Chapel, New Boston, with Bro. J.O. Hilton officiating. Interment will be in Read Hill Cemetery, New Boston, under the direction of Bates-Rolf, New Boston. Visitation will be from 12:30 until 2:00 before the service.
