BRADY Jimmy Don Kennedy, 77, of Brady, Texas, and formerly of Odessa, Texas, passed away Friday, July 12, 2013, in Brady. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2013, at Crestview Baptist Church in Midland, Texas. Initial care was entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home in Brady.|
Jimmy was born on October 3, 1935, in Stanton, Texas, to Ott Kennedy and Winnie Edith (Palmer) Kennedy. He was a graduate of Odessa High School, a member of the Elks Lodge in Odessa, and a Baptist. Jimmy married Lillie Faye Armstrong on January 21, 1954, in Monahans, Texas. Jimmy was a postal carrier in Odessa for 32 years and in a management position with the post office for another 5 years. They had been McCulloch County residents for 19 years, having moved here from Odessa in 1994.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter; Pam Boyd; an infant son, Jimmy Kennedy Jr.; one son-in-law, Ronald Wayne Perego.
Survivors include: wife, Faye Kennedy of Brady; daughter, Brenda Perego of Odessa; son-in-law, Harlan (Skipper) Boyd of Gardendale, TX; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
