Mary Elizabeth Tinney Obituary
ODESSA - Mary Elizabeth Tinney (83) of Odessa, Texas joined her Father in Heaven on July 29, 2018. Mary was the daughter of J. C. Kennedy and Nina Davis, born on July 16, 1935 in Tyler, Texas. Mary was a Licensed Vocational Nurse for some years at Medical Center Hospital, Odessa, Texas as well as Director of Nurses for several years in Pampa, Texas Nursing Homes.

Mary and Bobby Glenn Tinney were wed on January 23, 1973 where they began a custom home building business, MBT Homes. Mary at the request of Bob, became his partner is business and life. They relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1989. Upon returning to Odessa/Midland Texas in 1992, they started Classic Homes of Midland where they built custom homes until their retirement in 2009. Mary enjoyed traveling with Bob, maintaining a beautiful home for Bob, laundry daily and she loved to gamble at a Black Jack table, spend a few hours at slots or watching a horse race. Her friends and family members will remember her for her feisty attitude, little bit of stubbornness and love and devotion of being a wonderful mother and spouse.

Mary was predeceased by her loving spouse, parents and one grandson, Cody Wayne Mercer and one great grandson Nolan Shane Anderson. She is survived by daughters; Kathy and spouse Regis (Ziggy) Zeolla of Midland, Tx.; Debbie Mercer of Odessa, Tx.; Rhonda Tinney and spouse Michele Moreira of Redding, Ca.; Sons, Stanley and Anita Tinney of North Richland Hills, Tx and Kavin and Irene Tinney of Blackwell, Tx.; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hubbard Kelly Funeral Home of Odessa where viewing will be on Tuesday July 31, 2018 from 6-8 pm. Services will be held Wednesday August 1, 2018 at Cumberland Presbyterian Church. 1415 North Grandview Avenue, Odessa, Texas at 1:00 pm, officiated by Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell. Pallbearers from the Odessa Fire/Rescue: Fire Chief John Alvarez, Assistant Chief Sale Ortega, Battalion Chief Pat Land, Battalion Chief Danny Wyatt, Battalion Chief Bobby White and Division Captain Joey White. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.
