Thomas Elmore Morris  Jr Obituary
ODESSA Thomas Elmore Morris Jr., 84, of Odessa, died Friday, May 4, 2012, in Odessa.

Services are scheduled for 11am Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Odessa, TX following burial at Kermit Cemetery in Kermit Texas. The service will be officiated by Bradley Bennett and James Channell.

Thomas was born in Gotebo, OK to the late Thomas Elmore Morris Sr. and Viola Haralson Morris. At age 17 he joined the Marines and was a Merchant Marine traveling all over the world. Thomas served in World War II and the Korean Conflict before returning home to marry the only woman he ever loved, Donnie Woullard. They were married 59 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donnie Morris; his parents and two sisters, Betty Lou and Rebecca Ann Morris.

Survivors include his sons, Thomas Morris III and wife, Teri of Midland, Donald Morris and wife, Laure of Austin, Rodney Morris and wife, Rhonda of Odessa and Robert Morris and wife, Debbie of San Antonio; one brother, James Morris of Tulsa OK; two sisters, Oceal Morris and Sybil Morris Jones of Bartlesville, OK; eight grandchildren, Laura and Joshua Morris of Odessa, Paul and Thomas Morris IV of Midland, Robert Jack Morris Jr. of San Antonio, Jordan Morris and Franklin Calderon of Austin and Jayme Frey of Washington D.C.; two great-grandchildren, Cameron Frey and Noah Thomas Morris.

Thomas had a great love for flying airplanes and riding motorcycles. He was a great mechanic and could work on anything that had an engine. Thomas would give away his all as long as he had enough left for a cup of coffee. He loved the Hill Country flowers and had a large group of wild birds that he fed every morning. His greatest joy was seeing his family happy.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Chau Le, the staff at Compass Hospice and Comfort Keepers.

Services are entrusted to American Heritage Cemetery & Funeral Home at West Texas Memorial Park.
