Mildred Miller Obituary
ODESSA Mildred was born October 11, 1925 in Limestone County to Otto and Lila (Collins) Proctor.

She passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012 in Odessa.

She attended public school in Mexia, Texas and later married Jessie Miller. To this union, 12 children were born. Never working outside the home, she was a devoted wife, mother and a homemaker. Mildred was a faithful member of the Rose of Sharon Baptist Church, were she served for many years under the late Pastor A.H. Goings, Pastor Bonzell Baucham, and Rev. J.W. Hanson, until her health began to fail her.

She is preceded in death by her husband; son, Arthur Miller; her parents; and sister, Eula Proctor.

Leaving to cherish her memory are sons, Pastor E.J. (Jana) Miller of Odessa, Jerry (Lois) Miller of Houston, Charles (Marilyn) Miller of Arlington, Billy (Margaret) Miller of Fort Worth, Jackie Miller and Michael Miller, all of Odessa; daughters, Minnie (Johnny) Archie of Clovis, NM, Jessie Washington of Houston, Catherine (Bobby) Murry of Odessa, Sheila (Charles) Spears of Austin, Ruthie Miller of Odessa; sisters, Lucille Flax and Hester Johnson of Odessa; 52 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to a dear friend of the family, Evelyn Clinton Scott, and the rest of the staff at the Sienna Nursing Home for the loving care you gave to our mother.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 from 1 - 5 PM at Martinez-Smith Funeral Chapels.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 10 AM at Greater St. John Baptist Church with her son, Pastor E.J. Miller officiating.

Burial will follow at the Rose Hill section of the Ector County Cemetery.
