Charles Wherry Jackson Obituary
ODESSA Charles Wherry Jackson, age 65, went to his home in Heaven Wednesday, April 9, 2014, in Friona, TX. He was born November 28, 1948, in Alleene, Arkansas, to Andrew and Maggie Jackson. He graduated from Ector High School in 1967. He married Linda Anderson May 31, 1968, in Odessa. Charlie spent his entire career working in the grocery business.
He started his career at 16 years old working for Safeway, where he started as a sacker and worked his way up to manager. He has spent the last many years working for Lawrence Brothers Supermarkets as a unit director. He had a work ethic that was unmatched. Whether visiting with customers, working with the Lions Club or cheering on the Bulldogs; Charlie loved being involved in the community.
He equally enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and would drive all over to watch them in school activities. Charlie and his wife Linda spent 44 years together. He was devoted to her in good times and bad, in sickness and health, until her passing in 2012. He loved his family, friends and extended family deeply, and he will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda; parents, Andrew and Maggie Jackson; sisters, Nita Foreman, Evelyn Williams and Dorothy Harvey; and brothers, Albert Brashear and Jimmie Brashear.
