Herminia Z. Rubio Obituary
ODESSA Herminia Z. Rubio was called home by our Lord on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Centennial Hills Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She was born in Del Rio, Texas, on July, 1928, to Macario Zurita and Luz Puente Zurita.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved family gatherings and traveling across the United States. She loved working in the high school cafeteria in McCamey, Texas. When she moved to Odessa, she became a hotel cleaning supervisor. After retiring she continued to give of herself by working with the elderly for Nurse's Unlimited.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Estela Rubio of Las Vegas, Nevada, her son and daughter in law, George and Judy Rubio, her devoted grandson, Christopher L. Rubio, and grand-daughter, Priscilla Rubio Aguilar, all of Odessa, Texas.

Although our hearts ache with the pain at this time, because our family chain has been broken, deep in our hearts we know that eventually God will call on us, one by one and someday our chain will be linked together again.

The Rubio family would like to thank all the family and friends who were involved in praying and helping us through this very difficult time.

Rosary was said April 15, 2014, at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home Chapel. Mass is at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 612 E. 18th St. at 11:00 a.m. April, 16, 2014, with Father Santiago Udayar officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Odessa, Texas. To sign the guestbook, please visit our website at www.sunsetodessa.com.
