ODESSA Wilma Petit Sanders, age 79, of Blackwell, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at her home. |
She was born in Antelope, TX, on August 9, 1934, to the late James Henry and Millie Lee (Ensey) Petit.
Wilma married B. J. Sanders in Wichita Falls on June 20, 1953, and they raised four children.
Wilma enjoyed fishing and greatly enjoyed retirement at the lake. She was a fast pitch softball pitcher in a women's league. She was also a great cook and liked to work word puzzles.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband: B. J. Sanders of Blackwell, TX; son: James D. Sanders and wife Gayla of Odessa; daughters: Donna Sanders and Carol Parker, both of Odessa; sister: Vera Harrelson of Archer City; six grandchildren: Michel Weddle, Jeff Weddle, Matthew Parker, Dawson and Meagan Parker, Duston Parker, and Allen and Brittany Sanders; and two great-grandchildren: Haiden Parker and Kason Parker. She also leaves behind her beloved companion, Chihuahua Pomeranian mix, Mitzy.
Her parents, her daughter: Janette Weddle, four brothers and three sisters, precede her to her Heavenly home.
A celebration of Wilma's life will be at First Baptist Church, 101 N. Blanco, Blackwell, TX, on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at 4 pm.
Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and Crematory in Odessa and condolences may be sent to the family online at acreswestfuneral.com.
