ODESSA Doxie Gene Yarborough passed from this life to rejoin her beloved husband in eternity on Monday, June 2, 2014, at Community Medical Center in San Angelo, TX, at the age of 83. Doxie was born on August 13, 1930, in Welch, Dawson County, Texas, to the late Samuel Carvel Mercer and Valeria Bell (Todd) Mercer. She married the love of her life: Virgil Lee "Bill" Yarborough in Lamesa, TX, on October 8, 1948. She was a homemaker.

She lived life to the fullest and loved to travel and go fishing. Her wide variety of interests included painting, ceramics, and watching the Dallas Cowboys. Her favorite movies were "Pretty Woman" and "Fools Rush In".

Mercer, Laura Agnes Callis Teague, and Durell Callis Dickens; and two grandsons: Billy Jake and Joseph Edward.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons: Johnny Lee Yarborough and wife Frances of Odessa and Wendell Carvel Yarborough of Brady; daughters: Linda Faye Fish and husband Bill of Brady and Laura Gene Draper and husband Bobby of San Angelo; grandchildren: Becky, Melvin, Johnette (husband Kenneth), David, Billy (wife Rachel), Lisa, Karen, Angela, Dayton (wife Brittany), Katrina, Colton, and Logan; great-grandchildren: Savhanna, Edward, Tyler, Jesse, Kendra, Kenneth Jr., Lauren, Caleb, Cameron, Emily, Amber, and Brittany; and great-great-grandchildren: Kevin, Miyah, Quinten, Serenity, Ryan, Jaylin, Keston, and Gavin.
