ODESSA Carol Ann Groff, 75, went home to her heavenly Father on June 8, 2014. Carol is the daughter of Robert Welch & Laura O'Dell. |
She was born in Norwalk, Ohio, and graduated from Milan High School. She married Charles Groff on June 8, 1957.
Even though Carol lived in Odessa for 32 years, she loved Ohio and always wanted to move back.
Carol was a great cook, having learned from her Grandmother. She owned Carol's Catering and Cakes in Norwalk, Ohio, and Cactus Café in Odessa, Texas. She also worked for many years at the Odessa College cafeteria.
Carol worked hard to give her children everything she didn't have growing up. She was like a mother to her siblings: Bob, Vivian, Linda, Chuck and Anita. Later in life, she got to know her birth family: John, Karen, Peg, Vernon and Norman, and her birth mother: Anne.
Carol is preceded in death by her mother: Laura Phillips; father: Robert Welch; step-father: Charles Phillips; husband: Charles Groff; sisters: Linda Leber and Karen Summers; brothers: Vernon and Norman Morelock; and daughter-in-law: Nancy "Cay" Groff.
Surviving her are son: Ray (wife Kathy) Killian of Freemont, Ohio; daughter: Kathy (husband Kyle) Blevins; son: Terry Groff; and daughter: Charlotte (husband James) Fulfer, all of Odessa, Texas; brothers: Bob Welch of Wakeman, Ohio, Chuck Phillips of Norwalk, Ohio, and John Markwood of Vermillion, Ohio; sisters: Vivian Knight of Norwalk, Ohio, Anita Meade of Wakeman, Ohio, and Peg Tucker of Vermillion, Ohio; grandchildren: Patrick Moffit, Dennis Moffit, Rachel Bratten, Damien Groff, Heather Groff, Kristin Killian, Kevin Killian, Chris Fulfer, Zachary Fulfer, Joe Ramirez, JC Ramirez; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
