Alvin Eugene "Buster" Dominey Obituary
ODESSA Alvin Eugene "Buster" Dominey passed from this world on Thursday, July 3, 2014.

He was born March 10, 1954.

He became a boxer when he was a young man. He held the Texas Cruiser Weight title for five years. Later, he got involved with his jump rope training and turned it into a dance style. In the early eighties, he went to all the schools around Odessa and did the "Jump for Heart" for the American Heart Association. His dad had heart trouble, so he wanted to give back. He started to develop his own style of jump rope to sell. He later went back to his love of boxing. Buster started to train some pro boxers and put on pro boxing exhibitions around town with help from his friends. He was always a happy person and always tried to boost other people's morale. He was an avid fisherman and loved to river fish at Roosevelt and Junction.

Those who preceded him in death are his mom: Wilma Dominey and father: Eugene Dominey.

He leaves behind his wife Zula Dominey of Odessa; son: Brock Duke and wife Rachael of Odessa; daughters: Shan Gass and husband Jason of Midland and Trish Bretz and husband Randall of Victoria; nine grandchildren; and two sons from a previous marriage: Ricky Dominey Swaine of Midland and Rusty Dominey Swaine of San Angelo and their children; three brothers: Loy Dominey and wife Sherry of Odessa, Eddie "Butch" Dominey of West Colombia and James Dominey and wife Lisa of Orlando, FL; four sisters: Debra Zuelke of Crockett, Sharron Graham of Austin, Susan Fletcher of Brazoria, and Anne Meyers of Fresno, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was much loved and will be sorely missed.

Memorial services will be 4:00 pm Monday, July 7, 2014 at Terrace Hills Bible Church on 33rd and Golder, officiated by Pastor Brian Serrano.

Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and condolences to the family may be sent online at acreswestfuneral.com.
