ODESSA Raymond C. Wilson, age 84, passed away Friday, September 17, 2010, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX.|
He was born July 3, 1926, to George and Lona (Stewart) Wilson in Haynesville, LA. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Gloria Spradley on May 14, 1998, in Timberon, NM.
He retired after 35 years of service as a gas plant operator from Marathon Oil Company. He served on the Water District Board and served as president of the Lion's Club and was also a charter member of the Masonic Lodge in Timberon, NM. He dearly loved playing golf. He was a member of 6th and Jackson Church of Christ in Odessa.
His parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Wilson of Odessa; his son, Derek Wilson and wife, Priscilla of Abilene, TX; his daughter, Paige Ramirez and husband, Adan of Midland, TX; his brother, Virgil Wilson of Hemphill, TX; his sister, Georgia Wyatt of Orlando, FL; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2010, at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with Penny Nichols officiating.
