Memorial services for Ruth Gilbert will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at the Wolfforth United Methodist Church.
Burial will follow at 4 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Odessa.
Cremation is under the direction of Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, Lubbock.
She was born Dec. 17, 1916 in Lampasas to the late William Edward and Lavonia May (Howard) Lancaster. She married C. A. (Allie) Gilbert on Sept. 16, 1933 in Brownwood.
They lived in Odessa for thirty-five years before his death on July 1, 1981. Ruth worked as a bookkeeper and moved to Lubbock in 1997 to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She was a member of the Wolfforth United Methodist Church.
Those left to cherish her memories are her three daughters, Joy Bolding and husband Kenneth and Ruthie Lasater and husband Andy all of Odessa, and Gwen Greer and husband Hank of Lubbock; two sisters, Wilma Boyd and Peggy Hagen and husband Benny, two brothers, Worth Lancaster and wife Ginger, Charles Lancaster and wife Edna; sister in law, Yvonne Lancaster; six grandchildren, Steve Bolding, Jimmy Bolding and wife Amber, Gwen Mayo and husband John, Henry Greer, III and wife Allison and Matthew Lasater and wife Jennifer and Lindsay Lasater and ten greatgrandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, Ruth is preceded in death by sisters, Rosalie Laughlin and Nelda Phillips, and a brother, Tim Lancaster.
Memorials are suggested to Wolfforth United Methodist Church Street Ministry or Interim Hospice.
