Edna Louise Davis Obituary
ODESSA Edna Louise Davis passed from this life on April 21, 2011, joining in heaven her parents, James and Loreen McGee, brothers Bobby and JL, and sister Katherine. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Calvin Davis, son Cary and wife Annette of Lubbock, son David and wife Doris of Dripping Springs, daughter Sandra and husband Johnny Lasiter of Odessa, 15 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

Born November 5, 1923 near Klondike, Delta County, Texas she forsook being valedictorian of her High School class to marry the love of her life, Calvin, on April 17, 1941. Later, in 1947, she and Calvin moved to Lubbock, Texas, residing in the area for many years, where she worked as both bookkeeper and housewife. In 1988, she and her husband retired and moved to Odessa, residing there until her death.

Diagnosed with Alzheimer's, she was a resident of Parks Retirement Home for the last year, where her infectious smile won the hearts of residents and staff alike. The family would like to take this time to say thank you to the staff of Parks for the love and care given her during her stay there.

An avid seamstress, she made many of her children's clothes during their young years and later in life quilted afghan blankets for her grandchildren, each of which will be treasured for life. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles daily which, as she would say, helped keep your mind active and never stop learning, a trait passed on to her children.

Services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 26 at Frank Wilson Funeral Home with interment at Sunset Cemetery. The family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.

Services are entrusted to Frank Wilson Funeral Directors.
