ODESSA Michael Carlos Salgado was born April 11, 1937 and after a courageous 7 year battle with cancer passed away at his home on Friday, December 9, 2011 at 12:50 a.m. |
He was fondly called Mike or Mr. Mike by many. He was a dedicated Christian, "always having plenty to do in the work of the Lord"- 1 Corinthians 15:58. He retired from Phillips Petroleum after 25 years of service. After retiring, he drive a school bus for ECISD for 8 years until was unable and he enjoyed it very much.
Mile was preceded in death by his father Cirilo Salgado, brother Marion Andrew Salgado, and sister Mary Helen. He is survived by his mother Virginia Salgado, wife Manuela Salgado of 51 years, sons Richard Ybarra Salgado and wife Fleur of Kansas, Michael Carlos Salgado Jr. and wife Paula of Andrews, Texas, 6 grandchildren Gabriel, Jacob, Andrew, Ariel, Isaac, Isaiah, and one great-grandson Michael, Also survived by siblings Cirilo Salgado, Minnie Vasquez, Virginia Salgado, and many nieces and nephews. Mike had several sister in laws who were special to him along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him.
He was a very loving and caring man which helped him to be a respected elder in a local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Mike touched the lives of anyone who came into contact with him with smile and generosity, and maintained his wonderful sense of humor until close to the end. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by many.
Hubbard-Kelly will have a viewing for the family on Monday, December 12, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by closed viewing for friends of the family.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service to be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 1750 87th & Dawn, at 4:00 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2011
