ODESSA Edward Nelson Conner, age 77, of Odessa, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Hospice House. He was born in Rimersburg, PA on December 22, 1935, to the late Harvey Nelson Conner and Edith Carnahan Barnes. He was a US Marine, serving during the Korean Conflict, stationed at Camp Pendleton. Edward was also a member of the American Legion and was a past Commander. He worked for Bostick Roofing and Sheet Metal as a salesman.
Edward was a free-spirited, energetic man who enjoyed dancing and playing pool. He listened to Country and Western music and his favorite song was "Please Help Me I'm Falling". He was also a Dallas Cowboy fan. A good person, Edward leaves an empty space and will be missed by many.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory one son: Mace Nelson Conner and wife Sabrina of Odessa; one brother: Claude Monroe Conner of Odessa; and one sister: Audrey Hughes and husband J.D. of Bastrop.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Freddie Eugene Conner, who passed away in May of 2002.
A family visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening, February 21, 2013, from 4:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral services with military honors will be at 10:00 am Friday, February 22, 2013, at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Chaplain Brian Serrano.
