He is survived by his children, Rhonda Stanton and husband Clyde, Richard Hardwick and wife Cindy, both of Odessa, TX, Rena Black and husband Terry of Andrews, TX; step children, Paladin Schmitto of McCamey, TX, and Norma of Dallas, TX; ten grandchildren, Jessica Stanton and Rico Coon of Tecumseh, OK, Linda Morris and husband John, Eric Stanton and wife Maite, all of San Antonio, TX, Brandon Hardwick and wife Bobbi Jo, Brian Hardwick and wife Valerie, Brook Hardwick, Braeden and Bre'Anne Hardwick, all of Odessa, TX, Ryan Hardwick and Shawn Black, both of Andrews, TX; five great grandchildren, Joe Garcia, Caydon Hardwick, Braxton Hardwick, Ebin Stanton and Rhylee Hardwick. Ron worked many years with Coors and later retired from Laughlin Air Force Base of Del Rio, Texas. Ron will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

God saw him getting tired; a cure was not to be.
He wrapped him in his loving arms and whispered "Come with me".
He suffered much in silence, his spirit did not bend,
He faced his pain with courage, until the very end.
He tried so hard to stay with us but his fight was not in vain,
God took him to his loving home and freed him from the pain.

Visitations will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2013, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
