To the family of Dr. Geitz, sorry to hear about your lost. Dr. Geitz was a customer to Odessa Camera Center for many years. I always enjoyed his visits to store. He was a very busy man and was always in and out. Never got the chance to learn of his beginnings, but from reading his obituary, he was able to over come and do more with his life than most others. I only wish we could have had some conversation about his early life. I know your family and friends will miss him. Hoping you will enjoy the coming Holidays.

In 1970, I experienced a fall from a second story balcony in Lubbock, Texas. My right ankle was shattered. Unknown to me at the time, when they wheeled me in for surgery, amputation was being discussed. Dr. Marten Geitz was the "on call" surgeon. He spent eight hours repairing what he later referred to as "one of the worst fractures he had ever seen." I was 22 years old. I thank God daily for sending this wonderful caring man to my rescue.
