Carl Harps

Carl Harps, 75, of Washington, died Tuesday, March 25, 2014, in Washington County Health Center, Washington.He was born October 17, 1938, in Washington, a son of William Harps and Ethel Haines Harps.Mr. Harps worked as a machinist at Crile Machine and Lagonda Machine and also worked at Hazel Atlas No. 2, all in Washington.He played dart ball in church leagues and at the senior center and enjoyed mechanics, car repair, roller-skating and bowling.Mr. Harps was a member of Fairhill Manor Christian Church, Washington.On April 3, 1970, he married Sharon Hammond, who survives.Also surviving are three sons, Martin (Nicole) Harps, Marvin Harps and Ricky (Patty) Harps, all of Washington; a daughter, Daralyn (Danny) Fuller of Washington; a brother, Merle Harps; a sister, Ruth Ann Cox; grandchildren Alan Calvert, Shelby Harps (Eddie Musolino), Dalton "Peanut" Harps, Cameron and Caitlyn Fuller and Brandy, Leighann, Danielle, Breianna and Ashlee Harps; great-grandchildren Olivia Nicole, Justice and Tiara; mother-in-law Shirley Hammond; sisters-in-law Rise (late Duane) Dewalt and Nancy Hammond; brother-in-law Paul (Debbie) Hammond; several nieces and nephews; and a lifelong friend, Ronald Hupp of Chagrin Fall, Ohio.Deceased are a son, Randy Harps; a great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Nicole; brothers Paul, Glenn, Russell, Allen, Ernie and Bill; and sisters Mary Workman and Helen Muncie Konyk.Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 29, with Rev. Michael Lehman officiating.
