Jacalyn Silagyi Thomas(1950 - 2014)

Jacalyn Silagyi Thomas died peacefully Wednesday, April 9, 2014, in her home, with her husband and family by her side.She was the beloved wife of Richard Thomas; loving mother of Amy (Michael) Nerone, R. Joseph Thomas, Michael (Tracey) Thomas, James (Gianna) Thomas, Mauri Thomas, Mark Thomas and John (Valerie) Thomas; caring grandmother of Katherine Nerone, Amanda Nerone, Nicholaus Thomas, Sean Nerone, Noah Thomas, Elizabeth Nerone, Ashley Thomas, Luke Thomas, Ellie Thomas, Amelia Thomas and Nathan Thomas; and sister of Bruce Silagyi, Terry Silagyi, Alexis Heckman and Sandra Shepard.Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.She leaves behind her beloved dog, Belle.Mrs. Thomas received a bachelor's degree in teaching from Slippery Rock University and a master's degree in telecommunications from Clarion University.She taught in Fox Chapel School District, while building a successful bridal and photography business, known as Jacalyn's Lace and Promises. She then went on to build a medical day spa in Peters Township, Spa in the Hollow, and a medical practice specializing in cosmetic services.Mrs. Thomas enjoyed golf, skiing, decorating, architecture and traveling. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.Friends and family are welcome from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 724-941-3211. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12, in St. Louise de Marillac Church, 320 McMurray Road, Upper St. Clair. Everyone is asked to please meet at church.
