Virginia Louise Fekaris, 51, of Finleyville, formerly of Weirton, W.Va., died May 7, 2014, after recent heart valve replacement surgery.Born July 31, 1962, in Wheeling, W.Va., she was a daughter of Georgette Frangakis Fekaris and the late Louis G. Fekaris.Ms. Fekaris retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation, where she worked as a dispatcher. She was also a leader and coordinator in educating the local community about celiac disease.A daddy's girl, she loved to shop and spend time at the beach. She also enjoyed cooking, decorating, making crafts and fishing. But most of all, she will be remembered for her big heart and her willingness to always lend a hand to a person in need.In addition to her loving mother, Georgette, surviving are her loving companion, John Doleno of Finleyville; two sons, John Pavlic of Columbus, Ohio, and Adam Bonomo of Akron, Ohio; two daughters, Georgia Pavlic of Wintersville, Ohio, and Kathryn Bonomo of Canton, Ohio; a brother, George L. Fekaris of Weirton; four grandchildren, Isaiah, Savannah, Quarizmah and Owen; and a loyal and devoted friend, Wayne Scott of Finleyville.Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, W.Va., where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 12. Pastor Jeff Greco will preside. Interment will be in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Share tributes and memories at
